The new version of the scale introduces definitions and conditions for fire doors with thermal insulation and those without from international standards, and changes the classification of fire doors from being solely based on thermal insulation to a full classification of fire doors into Class A (fully insulated), Class B (partially insulated), and Class C (non-insulated).

At the same time, the fire resistance limit of Class A, B, and C fire doors has been adjusted to 1.5h, 1.0h, and 0.5h, respectively. This has enriched the variety of fire door products in China, expanded the practical application options, and for sites that only require fire doors to have partial insulation or fire integrity, it is possible to choose partially insulated or non-insulated fire doors.

The new scale also stipulates that if filler materials are used inside the door leaf, non-toxic and harmless fireproof insulation materials should be adopted to reduce the impact on human health. This regulation not only makes the configuration of fire doors more suitable but also reduces the production cost and raw material consumption of fire doors.

The new version of the standard has added the text and conditions for steel-wood fire doors and other material fire doors, providing technical basis for the application of new materials and technologies, as well as for the production and inspection of new types of fire doors, and expanding the development space for fire door manufacturing enterprises.
